Academic Representatives Forum 2026 (In-Person Attendance)
Please note this event is for IMA Academic Representatives (plus an optional guest)

Details

When? Friday 19 June 2026, 10:00 to 15:30
Where? University of Birmingham (Edgbaston Campus), Lecture Theatre C, Watson Building, Birmingham

Once a year, members who formally represent the IMA as Academic Representatives within their universities convene to build their community, share knowledge, and to network. This year's event will take place at the University of Birmingham on Friday 19 June 2026, and we look forward to welcoming attendees in person.

We are pleased to confirm this year's keynote speakers: Prof Michael Grove FIMA, Dr Joseph Bailey MIMA and Prof Rosemary Dyson. All talks will be followed by an audience Q&A.

We will also hear from Dr James Van Yperen AMIMA on the National Best Maths Project Competition 2026 and look forward to an interactive session with our Membership and Marketing Executive Marrion Smythe.

We are able to reimburse travel costs for up to two representatives from each university and would encourage you to attend in person, where possible, as there will be lots of time for networking built into the day. This will be a part-hybrid event, so if you cannot come in person due to other commitments then you will be able to attend the first part of the day online.

Instructions on how to claim back travel expenses will be included in your confirmation email.

Lunch and refreshments will be provided.

Arrival and Registration from 10am, first talk commences 10.30am.
